August Meeting & Dualsport Ride (Cleveland NF, partII)
Who: Everyone, including any family or interested friends.
What: August meeting / short dualsport ride
Brief meeting regarding the September 6-8 camp and a couple other things and we're off.
We'll have coffee and donuts, the breakfast of champions. Ok, it's not. It's still damn tasty, though.
Where: (address no longer displayed)
When: Saturday, August 10, 2002, 9:30a.m.
Please use the RSVP POLL on the homepage.
Ride: If you've got a street-legal dualsport, be sure and join us. At 10:30a.m., we'll take off for yet another ride down the ridge of the Cleveland forest. Quite a few of you missed out the last time we did this and have asked if we'd do it again soon, so here you go. I will be cutting the ride short though, bailing out at Indian Truck Trail to return. If you'd rather keep going down to Elsinore, don't let that stop you. I'm sure there'll be others that want to.

SEPTEMBER 6-8 OFFROAD WEEKEND
Let us know if you're going via the homepage POLL
Yes, we're finally having another go at a weekend camp. All those of you that ride green/red sticker vehicles, this is the opportunity you've been bugging me about, so take advantage of it already.
Who: All offroad and dualsporting members, including family and friends!
What: Weekend desert camp at Crab Flats (near Green Valley Lake in the San Bernardino Forest
Where: About: Maximum 2 vehicles per site, depending on spur length. The camping fee includes entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle. You are responsible for all your own necessities.

RESERVATIONS:
You really want to make site reservations at: http://www.ReserveUSA.com/nrrs/ca/crab/
If you have intention of going, you'll want to reserve a site right away. They can be shared, if you want to try and double-up with someone. Yes, this is an "off" weekend, but there's only about 14 sites available at the time of this newsletter. FYI - I'm reserved at a central site, #25.

Location: Crab Flats campground, San Bernardino NF

Directions: Take Freeway to 330 North. Go through Running Springs and Arrowbear, CA, to Green Valley Road. Turn left, go approximately 4 miles to Crab Flats Campground sign at Forestry dirt road. Turn left and go 4 1/2 miles to the campground. Just look for the club banner.

When: September 6-8, 2002 (I should be there before sunset on the 6th)
Other: PLEASE let us know if you're going via the POLL on our homepage - CLICK HERE

Checkout this page for any detail campground info and to make a site reservation:

Stu - Someone else confirmed this to be the best location for offroading/camping. It's 2-stroke friendly and everyone can take off from right from the campground. We'll do Green Valley Lake when it's only dualsporters. By the way, you wanna be our trail guide, since you seem to know the area so well? I'm game for anything you can dish out. The only thing I shy from is loose sand/gravel on excessively steep inclines. Not my idea of fun. Jon Hicks, on the other hand, enjoys exactly that, especially if it simultaneously involves a good roost battle.

Everyone - Check out the MESSAGE BOARD already. Only 25% of you are even registered on it.

Planning Future Events
As you might have already noticed, we have a general EVENTS page that is freely visible to all visitors. Share whatever event you'd like by posting it yourself. Everyone is free to post any events, rides, etc on this page. If you'd like to start a ride or camp specifically with members, please POST it in the MESSAGE BOARD (hosted by Yahoo Groups). If you haven't already, you will need to subscribe to the message board first to post AND receive such posts. Try it out. It can be quite useful for quickly sharing info with everyone on the board. It's much more efficient than digging out individual emails from the member list.
