First, I'd like to welcome all of you who have joined us in just the last couple weeks. Our membership is at 27 as of March 30, and is growing at several or more per week!
It's time we got together to not only meet one another, but also to see just what type of riders we've got. As you all know, this club was formed to appeal to all types of riders, including onroad, offroad and dualsport. There seems to be a fair amount that ride multiple types of bikes, so we plan to focus on having rides and events both on and off the asphalt. For some reason, I don't think we've attracted any Harley riders yet. I guess the Harley folks just want to hang with other Harleys. Oh well, I tried.
| Who: | All members, including any family or interested friends you'd like to bring along. |
| What: | BBQ lunch in my backyard. Yes, it's free,
THIS time. With the rate we're growing, it won't stay that way.
(Future meetings will likely be held elsewhere to accomodate more members.) |
| Where: | (address no longer displayed) |
| When: | Saturday, April 6, 2002, 11pm - 2pm |
| Ride?: | If you've got a streetbike, ride here! Although there will be no organized group rides this day, you may want to hook up with others for a ride afterwards. Also, the Superbike Championships (www.californiaspeedway.com) will be going on just 30 mins from here, if you'd like to leave in time to catch some of it. |
This club is simply about getting other riders together for short or long onroad & offroad joyrides, weekend desert camps, that sort of thing. If you're looking for a daredevil / speed-demon / jump contest / intoxicated / ticket-escaping bunch, you're really looking in the wrong place. Matter of fact, if I feel your riding habits are in any way endangering other members, asking for serious tickets or arrests, or doing a disservice to the image of our club and it's law-abiding motorcyclists, I'll be asking you to leave. No offense, I actually work in advertising and design of psycho-daredevil motorcycle videos. I just don't want that element in this club.
Along that same thought, there's the possibility of becoming
an AMA-chartered club. More info on that to come.
You can help spread the word about the club by printing out some flyers for distribution in the area. The PDF can be downloaded HERE.
You might notice, when surfing the net, that links
have been provided to Corona Riders by many other sites (2-3 dozen) and
are starting to spread in the MC community. I've focused more on this than
anything else and would appreciate anyone doing the same to help spread
the word. Just make sure that when you do it, you state the following:
Name: Corona Riders
Site: www.coronariders.com
Type: all-type motorcycle enthusiast club
for the Corona, CA area.
Talk to you soon,
